Choreographer

Soma is a dance educator, choreographer and performer, and has been pursuing the North Indian Classical dance, Kathak for over 26 years. Her school, Ghungroo School of Dance promotes this dance form and encourages dancers, artists and performers to openly share their ideas.

Soma's performances blend the traditional repertoire with an innovative contemporary fusion of different dance forms. Her innovative approach of experimenting with new ideas have helped her in expanding the boundaries of Kathak.

Most recently, Soma was one of the Lead Choreographers for Transfusion, a fund raiser for the Cancer Society of India. Transfusion was covered by several Media Houses in Sacramento, California.
