The son of the legendary Dotara player Paritosh Roy, Tapas is a multi talented musician and has excelled as a music arranger, composer and musician. He has mastered a multitude of musical instruments such as the Mandolin, Dotara, Banjo, Bouzouki, Rabab, Saz, Oud, Mandola and Santoor.

Tapas has worked with some legendary film makers such as Satyajit Ray, Gautam Ghosh, Sandip Ray and Rituparna Ghosh. He has captured the hearts of masses at numerous international festivals in England, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Canada, France and most recently at the Biennale Bonn Festival in Germany.
