A young upcoming singer, with a beautiful melodious voice that leaves a lasting impression on the listener. In addition to singling the title song for several TV serials and films, Somlata has a number of albums to her credit. Most recently, she did an album for the "Tsunami Relief Fund" with several Bollywood singers such as Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal, Chitra, Usha Uthup and Sukhwinder Singh.

Currently, Somlata is hosting the music program "Take a Break" on Tara Muzik.

Her song for "The Perfect Woman" is her debut film performance.
